Budapest, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping recently concluded his state visit to Hungary. The Hungarian media considered the visit "of historic significance" and would push Hungarian-Chinese relations to a higher level.

The Hungarian World Economic News published an article summarizing and reviewing President Xi Jinping's visit. According to the report, during President Xi Jinping's visit to Hungary, the two sides upgraded the relationship between the two countries to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, and signed or agreed on 18 cooperation documents. These agreements will not only promote trade and investment between the two countries, but will also deepen people-to-people exchanges between Hungary and China. The report pointed out that President Xi Jinping's visit reflects the strong partnership between the two countries and also shows that Hungary has become an important participant in the cooperation of the "Belt and Road".

The Hungarian National newspaper reported that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China, and President Xi Jinping's visit is of historic significance. According to the report, in recent years, Hungary has launched the strategy of "opening up to the east," actively developed relations with Asian and European countries, including China, and benefited from economic cooperation. The visit underscores decades of efforts by both sides to deepen bilateral relations.

The report quoted Shorat Gellgay (Chinese name Shao Leit), a researcher at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, as saying that Hungary and China have long been on the same path, and President Xi Jinping's visit to Hungary "is an extremely significant diplomatic success" that will push Hungary-China relations to a higher level.

"The agreements reached during the visit of the Chinese President to Budapest will have a positive impact on Hungary's long-term development." The Hungarian news agency reported, citing Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó. Szijjártó focused on the cooperation between Hungary and China in the field of electric vehicles, saying that BYD and other Chinese companies have invested and set up factories in Hungary to help Hungary move towards "the forefront of the technological revolution".
