People from China and Bangladesh talk about a new picture of bilateral relations

Yao Wen, China's Ambassador to Bangladesh, delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony that currently, China and Bangladesh face important historical opportunities to strengthen cooperation. China is willing to work with Bangladesh to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year as an opportunity to carry forward traditional friendship, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road", and promote the continuous development of China-Bangladesh comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Tao Sid Hussein, diplomatic adviser to the Bangladesh Interim Government, said at the opening ceremony that Bangladesh and China have always treated each other as equals and supported each other, setting a model of friendly coexistence and win-win cooperation between countries. Bangladesh looks forward to strengthening all-round contacts with China, further deepening cooperation in trade and investment, green energy, infrastructure development, technology sharing, tourism and other fields, and jointly hosting the "Bangladesh-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges."

Yang Jiemian, director of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies, said that China and Bangladesh are both at a critical stage of national development. The two countries should strengthen exchanges of experience in governance, promote complementary advantages between the two countries, support each other in each other's core interests, and jointly respond to future challenges.

At the meeting, people from China and Bangladesh discussed three themes: "The impact of changes in Bangladesh's political landscape on the region","Bangladesh's political, economic and social reform trends" and "Strengthening China-Bangladesh cooperation and promoting comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership." Participants spoke highly of China's role in promoting the country's development as Bangladesh's largest trading partner and expressed that they would actively provide suggestions and suggestions for deepening China-Bangladesh cooperation and developing bilateral relations.
